Doyle The Joker In The PackKevin Doyle has no regrets about his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. In fact, he reckons that he is enjoying his best-ever season as a professional footballer. Six goals would not normally be considered a good haul for a Premier league striker but when those goals are important, and have kept his club in touch with the rest, then Doyle’s form could be vital to Wolves survival chances. ![]() “I really believe my best years are ahead of me” said Doyle, “This season is the best I’ve played – anyone who’s seen them will know I’m really enjoying my football and I’m playing very well.” The lone front man role has suited Doyle and his commitment and acceptance of that role has further endeared him to the Molineux faithful. He is fully aware of the clubs rich history and with such illustrious names as Steve Bull and, further back, Derek Dougan having led the Wolves frontline but ism unfazed by the pressure this could bring and indeed is thriving on it. That is down in part to the relationship he has with boss Mick McCarthy. Of his manager Doyle said “He’s the same as always – he’s straight to the point but I enjoy that. It’s been refreshing and it’s brilliant working for him, there’s no bull from him or us. It’s been brilliant. He told me ‘I want you to sign’ and all the things that go with it, so he was really good and he’s been like that ever since. Straight to the point and that’s how we like it.” Tags: Kevin Doyle, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Premier league, Wolves Posted: |
