Dorin Goian injures tendon in training

The Romanian side suffered a huge injury scare when centreback Dorian Goian strained a tendon in his left leg during training. There were rumours floating around about the Steaua Bucharest defender missing the opening game against France, but medical tests revealed that the injury was not as serious as it was first made out to be.

Romania, who are already missing the services of injured duo Ovidiu Petre and Danut Coman at this summer's European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, take on Montenegro in a friendly on Saturday.

Goian has been linked with several English and German clubs in the past, with the likes of Man City, Borussia Dortmund, Werder and Newcastle all reportedly keeping an eye on him during the Euro 2008 tournament.
