Brazilian midfielder Diego has revealed he wants to stay at German side Werder Bremen.

Since moving to Werder Bremen in 2006 from Portuguese club Porto he has put in some excellent performances and made a real name for himself with the fans.

The tricky Brazilian is 23 years old and is regularly watched by scouts from clubs in Italy and Spain. Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is also a fan of the 23 year olds.

Diego’s future looked unclear with so many clubs watching him but he insists that he wants to stay put at Bremen as he is playing some great football.

Diego said that once he moved to Bremen he started to play the best football in his career and also got a recall back to the Brazilian national team.

Although Diego expressed his desire to stay at Bremen, he did hint that he might look to move clubs in a year.

He is contracted to the club for three more years but revealed he may leave in a year.
