Zlatan Ibrahimovic found a place in the Swedish squad ahead of their Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark. Ibrahimovic underwent a groin operation and was expected to miss out games against Denmark and Iceland.

However a faster-than-expected recovery means that the Inter Milan striker finds a place in the squad as Sweden look to consolidate their position near the top of the table. Commenting on Ibrahimovic's recovery, Coach Lars Lagerbäck said that the striker's participation in the games would be assessed after training sessions on Thursday and Friday.

"Zlatan's rehabilitation after surgery has gone perfectly and he'll begin training with a football on Thursday and Friday, after which we can say more about his chances", Lagerbäck said. Fredrik Ljungberg has also been included in the squad in spite of struggling with a hamstring injury.

Defender Erik Edman and midfielder Kim Källström miss out the matches due to injury. Lagerbäck has called up Samuel Holmén and Fredrik Stenman as replacements. Sweden are currently in the second position in their group with 12 points from five matches.

Meanwhile Denmark coach Morten Olsen has made a "surprise" call-up for Morten Rasmussen. The 22-year old has impressed Olsen at the European Under-21 Championship held in summer. Denmark will be without left-back Niclas Jensen, who has been suspended for the game against Sweden, but will be available to face Lativia on June 6.

Jon Dahl Tomasson, Martin Jorgensen and Jesper Gronkjaer have all been included in the squad as Denmark look to overturn their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Spain and put their Euro 2008 qualification back on track. Denmark is currently in fourth position, with 7 points from 4 games, just 2 points behind Spain who have played five matches. Denmark v Sweden kicks off at 19:00 GMT on Saturday.
