Dempsey Doubt As Cottagers Crash

A 2-0 defeat on the road at Blackburn is the least of Fulham managers Roy Hodgson’s worries after USA international striker Clint Dempsey limped off with what could be a serious injury. Goals from Chris Samba and Ryan Nelson sealed the points for the home team but the knee injury sustained just after the hour mark is overshadowing Hodgson’s disappointment at the loss.

Hodgson said "Clint will be scanned tomorrow but we feel it might be a posterior cruciate knee ligament which would be very bad for us and he would be out for a while." With Bobby Zamora already ruled out for a couple of months, Hodgson did not need another injury but with the World Cup in the summer, this one may be more serious for both club and player. Hodgson went on "It's a concern up front because Clint Dempsey is very useful for us but now with both he and Bobby out it makes us a bit weaker in that area than we'd like to be."

South Korea international Seol Ki-Hyeon has left Craven Cottage to return home. He has signed for K-League side Pohang Steelers and the winger will hope that his ten years away will show an impact in his home country as he strives to secure a place in South Korea’s World Cup squad.
