Del Bosque Eyes Final Victory

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque wasted no time in urging his team to forget their semi-final triumph and focus on ending their long wait for World Cup glory.

The Euro 2008 winners booked their place in Sunday’s final against Holland after a 1-0 win over Germany in Durban.

And after so many disappointments in the past, Del Bosque believes they are in good enough form to clinch the trophy in Johannesburg.

Del Bosque said: “Our players carried out their job in a magnificent way. But let's think about the game in front of us. We're in good shape physically - let's try to win.”

If Spain manage to overcome the Dutch, they will be the first team to win the World Cup after losing their opening game of the tournament.

Since their shock defeat to Switzerland, the Spanish have recorded five successive victories to reach the showpiece final in Soccer City.
