Bolton’s horror opening to the season was dealt an additional blow as 30 year old Kevin Davies limped off after 58 minutes. During the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle Davies suffered a torn ligament and was replaced by Heidar Helguson. A scan will reveal the true extent of the damage but he is expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks. Also injured during play was striker Ricardo Vaz Te for Bolton. Similarly he will undergo a scan but on a foot injury sustained shortly after half time.
