Marcelo Moreno is looking forward to a successful loan spell with Wigan after moving until the end of the season from Shakhtar Donetsk.

 

After spending a previous loan period in Germany with Werder Bremen, the Bolivian forward who is 22 has moved to the Premier League after failing to settle in Ukraine. "I was all alone in Ukraine for four months. No friends and no family," he said, "I didn't speak the language. Even when I went to the supermarket there was nothing I recognised.”

He already feels more settled in England and is looking forward to working with Latics boss Roberto Martinez. I feel at home here because the manager speaks Spanish, it helps me understand the tactics. Some of the players speak Spanish too, but we talk English on the pitch."
