Cudicini Adds To Chelsea’s Worries

Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini could be out for some time with a hamstring injury according to his manager Avram Grant, who admits the injury looks ‘bad’.

Cudicini was injured during Chelsea’s Champions League game with Fenerbahce last night and now faces a spell on the sidelines along with number one keeper Petr Cech.

With both keepers injured it means that Chelsea might have to play third choice keeper Hilario and use youth keeper Rhys Taylor as a substitute keeper for their match with Wigan next Monday.

Number one keeper Petr Cech injured his face and had to have 50 stitches after a training ground accident with defender Tal Ben-Haim last Sunday.

Hilario replaced Cudicini last night against Fenerbahce and made some great saves. He pulled off a spectacular save from a number of shots which helped Chelsea win the match.

Avram Grant has full confidence in Hilario and said that he has no doubts that Hilario can do a job. We have two good keepers as cover in Hilario and Taylor.
