Cousin Move Denied By FIFA

Daniel CousinFIFA have denied Rangers striker Daniel Cousin the chance to move to Premier League side Fulham.

The £3 million move was cancelled by FIFA as he had already played for two clubs this season and FIFA rules state that a player may only play for two clubs in one season. Cousin has already played for French side Lens and then moved to Rangers who he has also appeared for.

Both Rangers and Fulham are upset about the decision made by FIFA with Rangers admitting the frustration this deal has caused.

The 31 year old striker who comes from Gabon made a £1.1 million move from Lens to Rangers in the summer. The deal that would have taken Cousin from Rangers to Fulham for £3 million needed final approval from FIFA, but they refused to give their approval meaning that the deal was cancelled and Cousin remained a Rangers player.

A spokesman for Rangers has admitted the clubs disappointment at how long it took FIFA to make their decision but insists that Cousin is still committed to helping Rangers in their European quest and their Scottish campaign.

Cousin has also admitted the frustration this deal has caused him and was looking forward to the chance of playing in the Premier League.

The deal can take place in the summer should Fulham make another offer for the player.
