Cottage Fears For JohnsonFulham striker Andy Johnson is facing an anxious wait for the results of exploratory surgery on his groin to discover the exact nature of the problem that has nagged away at him for almost two months. ![]() The former Everton man has received intensive treatment but continues to suffer pain. Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson has concerns that Johnson may be out of first team contention if the injury is serious. 'He had an operation on Saturday and I am waiting to hear what the results of that are,' Hodgson said “'It is pretty much exploratory because he has tried so hard to get back. There have been days when we thought he has cracked it and got manageable pain but then the following day when he comes out to training, he does not have manageable pain. I fear he will be out for some time.” Meanwhile, Hodgson was pleased with his sides determination after coming back from a goal down to draw with Bolton. The Europa League campaign has put a strain on Fulham’s squad but Damien Duff’s equaliser secured a well-earned point for the home team. "I thought we were unlucky to go in at half-time not winning because we had one chance cleared off the line” said Hodgson "but I'm full of praise for the players for the way they came out and attacked in the second half .. to play three matches inside a week is a tough ask so all credit to the players."
