Charlton 0-2 TottenhamCharlton were officially relegated as they were defeated 2-0 at home by in form Spurs. Goals from Berbatov and Defoe condemned Charlton to play next season in the Championship instead of Premier League. At the opposite end of the table the win confirmed Spurs UEFA Cup ambitions as they moved into 6th in the league table. In addition to sealing their relegation Charlton’s defeat now also means that Fulham is safe from the drop. Charlton obviously desperately needed to win this match but got off to a terrible start when Berbatov curled one past Charlton keeper. Berbatov added another top class goal to his impressive tally which was later followed up by Defoe.
