For Milan their buildup is hindered by talk of the 2005 disaster. However, the Milan team of today are better equipped for the cauldron of a UEFA Champions League Final. They are older and wiser and have had a full 3 weeks to prepare themselves for the game. Both sides have improved since 2005 but due to the preparation at both clubs coupled with the 2005 history this will be an evenly matched game. We won’t see Milan outclass Liverpool as they did with Manchester United. Nor will we see a lapse of concentration by the Milan side like in the 2005 final. Milan are likely to play the same team they fielded against Manchester United. However, they will be looking to include veteran Maldini with a late fitness test.

This is a tough game to call. It is tough because both teams have many different attributes but at the same time similar mentality and approach to the game. Milan will aim to avenge the 2005 loss which was one of the most exciting games in recent times. Liverpool will want to lift the Champions League trophy for an amazing 6^th time. With such high odds and so much history leading up to the game we feel that it will run similarly to the FA Cup Final. The winner will not be decided in normal play but the game will progress to extra time and possibly penalties.
