Celtic seem set to land Bosnian youngster Semir Stilic after it has emerged that the 21-year-old would have trouble gaining a work permit for an English side.

Numerous Premiership clubs are said to be interested in Stilic, who currently plies his trade in the Polish Ekstraklasa for Lech Poznan, including Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.

However, Stilic’s agent Miro Jaganjac has revealed that the midfielder may seek a move to Scotland instead due to work permit problems.

"In the English case, it seems that he has not played enough international matches to gain a work permit. But it seems that is easier in the case of Scotland." said Jaganjac.

"He has had a good season so far in the Polish league and in Uefa Cup games against Grasshoppers and Nancy. We have had contact with several clubs in the UK and the English clubs have been talking to Lech Poznan about his availability.

However, Jaganjac went on to say: "But he is very happy there and neither he nor I are actively trying to find a new club for him.

"However, it is good that his form is being recognised and if there's a good offer then, of course, anything can happen."

Speculation suggests that Stilic would be seen as an ideal replacement for Shunsuke Nakamura, who may return to Japan in January or after the season finishes.
