Captain Terry Has Red Card RevokedJohn Terry has successfully won his appeal against the red card that he received towards the end of Chelsea’s win against Manchester City last weekend. The England international defender is now clear to play in the hotly anticipated meeting between Chelsea and Manchester United this weekend. Terry was sent off in the seventy-seventh minute in the game at the City of Manchester Stadium after referee Mark Halsey deemed his challenge on Manchester City striker Jo to be Serious Foul Play.
The Chelsea players protested the decision on the basis that the England Captain was not the last man. However, the FA reviewed the incident on the basis of Halsey’s original reason and have now decided to uphold Chelsea’s appeal.
Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League following the 3-1 win with goals coming from Ricardo Carvalho, Frank Lampard and Nicholas Anelka.
