Campo, Teymourian and Giannakopoulos releasedBolton Wanderers fans will have to bid goodbye to the midfield trio of Ivan Campo, Andranik Teymourian and Stelios Giannakopoulos after the club decided not to extend their contracts. The Trotters just about escaped relegation this season, finishing 16th with 37 points.
Campo joined Bolton from Real Madrid, and has spent over six years with the Trotters. He was a great hit with the fans, and quite a few of them will miss his trademark long hair when the club take the field next season. A move back to Spain seems likely for Campo, with Real Mallorca being a strong possibility.
Iranian international Teymourian joined Bolton after the 2006 World Cup from Aboomoslem, but did not play much after Gary Megson took charge of the club's affairs.
Giannakopoulos may head back to his native Greece, where there is no dearth of clubs wanting to sign him.
Joining the trio out may be keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and full back Ricardo Gardner. However both have been offered new contracts as Gary Megson aims to build a team that will achieve a comfortable mid table position next season. Question marks are also being raised over the future of El Hadji Diouf, with the Senegalese international stating that he may seek a move away from the Reebok.
