Cahill To Miss The Rest Of The Season

Everton’s attacking midfielder Tim Cahill will miss the rest of the Premier League season due to a broken metatarsal injury.

The Australian midfielder played just 10 minutes of the match at the weekend against West Ham before being taken off after he suffered a reoccurrence of the injury he had last season.

The 28 year old injured his metatarsal last season when playing for Everton against Sheffield United and the injury reoccurred against West Ham last weekend.

Everton manager David Moyes said it was disappointing to lose a star player like Cahill but he thinks they should be able to cope without him for the remainder of the season.

The news comes ahead of the Merseyside derby match against Liverpool on Sunday and will no doubt be a major blow for Everton. The match has added spice to it, as well as the local rivalry there is also a Champions League spot up for grabs which both sides are chasing.

Cahill missed the last three matches of last season due to the injury and now won’t complete this season for Everton either.
