31 year old Nicky Butt has signed a new deal to extend his stay at Newcastle United. The midfielder’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season.

Nicky Butt arrived on Tyneside in 2004 and has since made 93 appearances for the club. During the 05-06 season he was on loan at Birmingham. The new deal will keep him at St James until the end of next season and also has a further one year extension deal option.

Butt signed for the Magpies for £2.5m and has featured in 17 games so far this season.
