Bruce Will Be Given Cash By Whelan
Wigan manager Steve Bruce has been told by owner Dave Whelan that he will be given some money to spend over the summer to strengthen the squad. Wigan drew 1-1 with Chelsea on Monday night and find themselves six points away from the drop zone. Although not safe from the drop they are planning for next season and owner Dave Whelan hopes that with some cash to spend Bruce can improve the squad. Since Steve Bruce became manager in November Wigan have become a stronger team and look more organised. Whelan is hoping that with some new players brought in over the summer Bruce can build on the good run of results. Whelan is hopeful that next season Wigan can push up the table and finish around mid-table. Whelan said that Bruce knows what players are needed to achieve a good position in the Premier League. I will support him with money to spend, but we’ve got along way to go before we get a mid-table finish. Two midfielders and a striker are being looked at by Wigan and Whelan will look at any player that is worth up to £7 million. Tags: Wigan, Steve Bruce, Dave Whelan, Premier League Posted: |
