Steve Bruce, manager of Birmingham City is hoping for a cash injection from a proposed takeover of the English Premier League club. Carson Yeung a Hong Kong businessman is increasing his stake at the club as he looks to mount a takeover bid in the coming months. Yeung currently owns just under 30% of the shares for the club after investing back in July.

Steve Bruce was restricted during the summer period as only £7 million was made available for new additions to the squad. The restrictions led to a focus on the loan market rather than any permanent transfers. Last minute hitches also caused upset and led to a transfer for Peter Luccin falling through.
