Bruce Pleased With Zaki Contribution

Steve Bruce has expressed his delight at the contribution that new striker Amr Zaki has made to his team’s promising start to the season. Wigan Athletic beat newly promoted Hull City 5-0 at the KC Stadium recently and Bruce has singled out the Egyptian striker as one of the shining lights in his team.

Bruce said “When I saw him play for Egypt he was a handful and I asked myself then whether he could do that in the Premier League”. The 25 year has so far played all three of Wigan’s games this season and scored three times. Bruce hopes there is much more to come from the striker but is not taking anything for granted. “…credit to the lad, he's been given his chance and has done well. He took his goals very well at Hull last weekend.”

Zaki has a proven pedigree at international level. In just 48 games for Egypt, he has scored an incredible 29 goals. He has joined Wigan on a year long loan from Egyptian club Zamalek.
