Bridge From Stamford To City

Manchester City have reportedly agreed a fee with Chelsea for full back Wayne Bridge. The 28-year old has spent the past 5 seasons at Stamford Bridge but has fallen behind Juliano Belletti and fellow England international Ashley Cole in the pecking order.

Despite committing to a four year contract extension during the summer, the £7M signing from Southampton has continued to see his first team chances severely limited and the chance to play regular Premiership football must be foremost in his mind, especially considering potential international opportunities will be few and far between for players who are not playing, according to Fabio Capello.

Bridge is expected in Manchester ahead of their third round FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest and if personal terms are quickly agreed then a satisfactory medical should see him become a City player very soon.
