Despite being bottom of Group C, Algeria can still make the knock-out stages of World Cup 2010, or so believes defender Madjid Bougherra. The hard-fought draw with England followed a narrow defeat to Slovenia and with the USA their final group opposition, Bougherra is still hopeful of progression.

“The point we got against England was priceless and one of the highlights of my career” he said, but we all believe that there is more to come from us against the USA.”

If England slip up against Slovenia, a win over the USA could send Algeria through.
