48 year old Sammy Lee has taken over the reigns at Bolton Wanderers after the resignation of Sam Allardyce yesterday. Sammy Lee became a coach for the Reebok Stadium team in 2005 but this is his first job in management. Speculation has surrounding Allardyce’s shock departure. Media sources state that big Sam left because he had another job lined up at Manchester City or Newcastle United. Other sources state that he was unhappy at the lack of transfer funds made available to take the club forward. Both claims have been rubbished by Bolton chairman Gartside.

Sammy Lee is now left with carrying on the legacy of Allardyce who spent a total of 8 years at the club taking them to new heights. There are 2 games left in the season for the new manager to make his mark. It will be a hard act to follow.
