Boateng Not A Target
Ghana’s midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng will not be the target of revenge for Michael Ballack’s injury insisted Oliver Bierhoff. It was Boateng’s tackle in the FA Cup final for Portsmouth that ended the Chelsea stars hopes for the World Cup and he has been vilified by German fans ever since.
“I do not think it would be right for us to use our emotions or feelings and channel them against a single person” said Beirhoff, “we will not be playing against Kevin-Prince Boateng but against Ghana.”
Following their opening game demolition of Australia, Group D was thrown wide open by the German’s defeat at the hands of Serbia. Nevertheless, the German General Manager remained confident that the squad are god enough to progress. “We have enough quality in the team to solve a situation when the going gets tough” he added.
