Blackburn 4-1 Charlton

Charlton’s hopes of avoiding the drop took a devastating blow as they were thrashed by Blackburn 4-1 away from home. The floundering club now slip to second bottom in the English Premier League.

Blackburn were first to strike with an opportunistic goal from Jason Robert’s. Charlton went a man down with Ben Thatcher’s dismissal for a second bookable offence. However, the away side made good on a bungled defensive error by Blackburn with Warnock creating a chance for Darren Bent to head in.

Clarity returned to the homeside leading to a final score of 4-1. Hreidarsson own goal was gollowed by goals by Roberts and Derbyshire.  The scoreline means Charlton were overtaken in the premier league table by West Ham and remain in the drop zone.
