Birmingham To Assist The PoliceFollowing raids on their club by police, Birmingham City FC have vowed to help the police as much as they can with their enquiries. The raids were part of the ongoing investigation into football corruption. The raids took place on Wednesday morning and police found and took documents that contain the clubs financial information. Birmingham immediately issued a statement saying they would co-operate fully with the City of London Police. A spokeswomen for the City of London Police issued a statement saying that the police were given a search warrant to search the football club this morning as they believe there is important information regarding football corruption. Many thought that the raid that took place had something to do with the Lord Stevens inquiry but were soon put straight by the spokeswomen for the police as she said that the investigation is nothing to do with the Lord Stevens inquiry and is on a different matter. Birmingham have quickly certified their innocence and insist the raid had nothing to do with any club official business.
