Bentley Closing In On New Rovers Deal

David BentleyDavid Bentley will sign a new contract with Blackburn Rovers’ is the confident opinion of Blackburn chairman John Williams.

Williams thinks that Bentley will sign a new deal at Ewood Park and has already opened negotiations with the England midfielder. He thinks there should be no problems about Bentley signing a new deal.

Bentley’s existing deal runs out in 2011 so there is still plenty of time to tie him down with a new one. He has made 123 appearances for the club since moving in 2005 from Arsenal.

Bentley has also been called up to the England squad since joining Blackburn and made his first England appearance last September in the Euro 2008 qualifier against Israel. He has also been announced in the England team to face France in a friendly next week by new England manager Fabio Capello.

Blackburn chairman John Williams thinks that 23 year old Bentley will agree a new deal and also expects the other players who are talking about signing new contracts to do so as well.
