Manchester City will be without the services of striker Benjani ‘for a few week’s according to boss Mark Hughes.

A hamstring strain picked up against Everton is the latest in a string of injuries suffered by the Zimbabwean International since his move from Portsmouth.

With domestic and European fixtures coming thick and fast through December, Hughes’ squad is being sorely tested as several players continue to struggle for fitness. Racing Santander, West Bromwich Albion, Hull City and Blackburn provide the opposition during the next couple of weeks and with the January transfer window rapidly approaching, the former Manchester Utd and Chelsea striker will be looking for a change in luck along with a large chunk of transfer kitty in his Xmas stocking.

The only problem he may have is that I’m not sure his boss in the boardroom actually celebrates Xmas.
