Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has revealed he would be happy to extend his contract at the club following talks with the owners. Benitez met the 2 American owners last week to discuss a number of issues surrounding the club.

Media speculation has been rife regarding the relationship between Benitez and Liverpool owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks with reports of a tense stand off. However, Benitez is now confident that any issues have been properly resolved and is looking to the future.

"I am quite at ease," Benitez told Sport newspaper. "I would like to fulfil my contract and extend it, if possible.
