Fernando Torres should be available for selection for Liverpool for the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion. That is the viewpoint of manager Rafa Benitez when he spoke to the media ahead of the club’s clash against Torres’ old club Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week.

The Spanish striker picked up a hamstring injury playing for Spain in September and has missed the last six games as a result. However, Benitez expects him to play soon. He said “I believe Torres will be ready for the West Brom game at the weekend... It all depends on Fernando, he was not happy with his fitness so he did not play against Atletico”.

Torres was Liverpool’s top scorer in his debut season and so the club will be eager to restore the 24 year old to the first team as soon as possible.
