Bellamy makes Hammers move

Controversial Welsh striker Craig Bellamy sealed a 7.5 million pound move to Upton Park. The Welshman was not at his best at Anfield having scored just 9 goals in 42 games for the Reds. With the arrival of Fernando Torres, Bellamy’s first team spot was also in jeopardy. Hence the move to West Ham makes sense for the striker. The Wales captain has signed a five-year deal with the Hammers. The money paid to lure Bellamy away from Anfield is also a club record for Alan Curbishley’s side.

Bellamy has always been known for his clever off the ball runs and a deadly change of pace. With the West Ham squad likely to lose Tevez and Harewood,  Bellamy’s addition is a huge boost to the lineup. He will play alongside Dean Ashton who was injured for most of last season with an ankle injury.
