Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced that is sides resurgence into form is coming at exactly the right time with silverware still in their sights on 3 fronts.

 

The mid-week victory in Rome albeit via penalties was followed by an impressive performance and four goals against struggling Blackburn. Wenger thinks that the squad are now focussed on what they need to do and have the team mentality to once again challenge for honours. "The team is really up for it. We are in good shape to fight on three fronts. We are on a very consistent run now, so we can go from strength to strength."

One of the stars of Saturday’s performance, Andrey Arshavin, credited Arsenal’s doctor with his second half wonder goal and great all-round display. “I had my right foot stitched up. Ooijer ripped my boot and my skin underneath in the 10th minute. The doctor had to help me out during the break.” Arshavin had four stitches in the wound and ran to the doctor after hitting the net. With his wife and sister also watching, it must have been a good night in the Arshavin household.
