Begovic A Happy Potter

Stoke City’s Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic insists he is happy at life at the Britannia Stadium, five months after a public falling out with manager Tony Pulis.

The pair were at loggerheads after Pulis accused the Bosnian of not wanting to play against Shrewbury in the Carling Cup in August, a claim Begovic strongly denied.

Things weren’t helped when Pulis suggested that the 23-year-old was open to a move to Chelsea following reported interest from the Stamford Bridge club.

The row resulted in Begovic struggling to force his way into the Potters’ starting eleven - the former Portsmouth goalkeeper had to wait until the end of October for his first Premier League appearance when regular Thomas Sorensen was sidelined through injury.

Begovic’s impressive performances in goal seemed to ease tensions with the manager, with the Bosnia international holding down his place in the first team even after Sorensen returned to fitness in December.

The Dane was selected for their recent FA Cup draw with Cardiff City, but Begovic should return to the fold for his club’s next Premier League outing against Bolton Wanderers.
