Major League Soccer may have broken up but David Beckham is still training as hard as ever. The next season does not start until March but Beckham has joined Premiership leaders Arsenal for some extra training.

32 year old Beckham asked Arsene Wenger for permission to train with his club in order to maintain fitness and in a bid to make a return to the national squad. Beckham hopes he can feature under Capello in the upcoming friendly against Switzerland.

Beckham will train with the Arsenal reserves during January. He will only join in with the first team if they are short of players. If he is picked for the England friendly Beckham will then return to LA Galaxy for their pre season friendlies mid February.
