David Beckham has been invited to play for an 'England Legends' XI in December. The MLS LA Galaxy star is currently struggling with injury – the latest a troublesome knee sprain. Beckham has not yet returned to fitness since playing through the pain barrier for Real Madrid at the end of last season. A series of injuries and setbacks have kept the player sidelined for both club and country over recent months.

Beckham’s withdrawal from the England squad for the September fixtures made way for Shaun Wright-Phillips who continues to impress on the right wing. But Beckham has already been offered the chance to represent England again in a PFA XI through Terry Venables. The team will take on a World XI coached by Sven-Goran Eriksson in Manchester on December 2^nd.
