Beattie Keen To Shine In The PotteriesStoke City’s new £2.5M signing James Beattie is looking forward to resurrecting his Premiership career at the Britannia Stadium. ![]() He completed his move from Sheffield United on Monday after penning a deal that will keep him at Stoke until 2012. The chance to once again ply his trade in the top flight cushioned his disappointment at leaving the Blades but the former Blackburn Rovers, Southampton and Everton striker is confident that he can still score goals at the highest level of league football. The man who made his England debut alongside Wayne Rooney said that Potters boss Tony Pulis had a lot to do with his decision. “I’d heard a lot of good things about the gaffer (Pulis) from people who know a lot about football” said Beattie. Also clearly impressed with his new teams fighting draw against Liverpool at the weekend, Beattie is up for the up and coming battle to ensure City’s Premiership status. "I think I'm a better player now than I was when I left," said Beattie. "Hopefully I can show that to the fans and my new team-mates." Tags: Stoke City, James Beattie, Tony Pulis Posted: |
