Barton arrested and bailed
Police
have now followed up on their investigation of the training ground bustup at Manchester City between Joey Barton and
Ousmane Dabo. Joey Barton was arrested by Greater Manchester Police who stated
that the 24 year old was questioned on suspicion of assault. Ousmane Dabo
claims he was attacked by Barton on 1st May at city’s training
ground – an attack which saw him needing hospital treatment. A spokesman for
the local police force stated that Barton had been bailed pending further
enquiries until the 11th of July. Dabo was treated in hospital for
injuries to his face including his eye nose and lips and claims to have been
punched by Barton sustaining injuries including a suspected detached retina.
Barton was suspended for the rest of the season following the incident and his
future at the club remains uncertain. Despite the issues at the club Barton has
received interest from a number of Premiership
clubs and is valued at £5.5 million.
