Barry To Look At His Villa Future

Gareth Barry

Aston Villa captain and midfield dynamo Gareth Barry will have a meeting with Villa manager Martin O’Neill to find out what the club’s future ambitions are, before he decides no his own future at the club.

Champions League semi finalists Chelsea and Liverpool have both been reportedly watching the Villa man and this news will no doubt alert other clubs.

Barry said that he needs to decide what is best for his career, as he is at the peak of his football career and wants to better himself.

Barry has been a Villa player nearly all his career but may be tempted to leave the club if a team involved in the Champions League comes in for him.

Boss Martin O’Neill wants to keep hold of the England international and thinks the meeting with Barry will determine whether he stays or leaves.

Barry is keen to find out what O’Neill hopes to achieve at Villa and also if he has plans to improve the squad and try and win some trophies.

Barry thinks that the squad does need strengthening and thinks that key players leaving in the summer will be a massive blow to their chances of doing well next season.
