Liverpool have consolidated their squad by adding two new recruits in Dutch striker Ryan Babel and the Israeli playmaker Yossi Benayoun. Ajax’s Babel has cost Livepool 11.5 million pounds while Yossi has transfered for about 5 million pounds. Liverpool had already completed the mega signing of Fernando Torres and had also allowed to let Bellamy go to West Ham.

Babel was enormous for Ajax last season scoring 17 goals in as few as 27 league goals. Babel was one of the stars of the Dutch side that emerged victorious in the Under 21 European Championships and has been capped 14 times for the senior Dutch squad. Benayoun on the other had is a seasoned international. He has attracted a lot of praise for Israel’s display in the ongoing Euro 2008 qualifying tournament.
