Arsenal snap up Croatian starIn their bid to bolster their attack after the departure of Thierry Henry to the Catalan club Barcelona, Arsenal have signed Brazilian born Eduardo Da Silva from Dinamo Zagreb. The fee has not been disclosed although many reports suggest that it being about 16 million pounds. Da Silva moved to Croatia at the age of 15 and acquired citizenship at the age of 22. Since then, he has scored a total of seven international goals for his country, including one against England in their Euro 2008 qualifiers. Incidentally, Da Silva scored the first competitive goal at Arsenal’s new Emirates stadium when these sides met in an Champions League Qualifier last season. Da Silva will add new zing to the strikeforce which now includes Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin Van Persie, Theo Walcott and Niclas Bendtner. Tags: Thierry Henry, Arsenal, Eduardo Da Silva Posted: |
