Arsenal Top Rich ListArsenal have topped the rich list of Britain’s football clubs after releasing their latest figures. The club show annual turnover has crossed £200m since their move to the Emirates Stadium. The board have used the news to reiterate that the club does not need foreign investment.
Managing director Keith Edelman said: "We secured all the players we wanted in the summer and manager Arsene Wenger did not spend his budget."
Arsenal have been the subject of media speculation over recent weeks as Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov increased his share in the club to 21%. Reports suggest he wishes to increase his stake to 25%. Another billionaire Stan Kroenke has acquired a 12% stake in the club over a period of time.
Arsenal’s rise in the rich list is mainly down to their move to the Emirates Stadium. The new stadium means the Premiership leaders are currently generating more than £3 million a game. Arsenal Supporters Trust are in full backing of the new figures and strategy at the club:
