2 months back Nicolas Anelka signed a contract extension at Bolton extending his term by 4 years. The clubs top scorer has been a key figure in a team that has failed to perform so far this season following the departure of Sam Allardyce.

Anelka joined Bolton last summer but rumours of a transfer have always persisted. Having previously played for big clubs such as Real Madrid, Liverpool and initially Arsenal the player admits he yearns to play for a bigger club. Given the current form of the club it looks increasingly likely that Anelka will take his chances in the new year and seek a transfer away from the club.

Bolton currently sit 2^nd bottom in the Premier League and are not showing signs of turning their form around any time soon.
