Allardyce Agrees To Replace Ince

Former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has agreed to become the new manager of Premier League strugglers Blackburn Rovers. The club moved for him after the dismissal of Paul Ince. In recent months Blackburn’s performances had seen them slump into the bottom three and this has forced chairman John Williams to act.

Allardyce is believed to have expressed interest in the job during the summer following Mark Hughes’ departure. Instead Paul Ince was given the job but subsequently struggled to get results. Chairman Williams said “Sam Allardyce was always the man I wanted to help us escape relegation once the sad decision to let go of Paul was made. He was the man we wanted and he was the man we went and got”.

Allardyce has signed a three year contract at Ewood Park.
