“One of the worst performances we’ve given in a long time.”

 

That was how defender Daniel Agger described his side’s 2-1 win over Cameroon that sent the African side out of the World Cup. Following an opening fixture defeat by Holland, it was a welcome comeback victory after Samuel Eto’o’s opener. However, Denmark’s Agger admitted the result was the only good thing about their performance.

“We’ve got three points, that’s the most positive thing I can say” said the Liverpool stopper, “If they’d been a bit more clinical they would have scored more goals and we would have out of it in the first half, but to our credit we do fight.”
