Lassana Diarra is likely to be out for around three weeks. That is the fear for recently appointed Portsmouth manager Tony Adams.

The talented midfielder was forced to withdraw in the first half during Portsmouth’s recent draw against West Ham United. However due to his early international call up, the club are not able to make an assessment of Diarra’s injury until he returns.

Adams said “Lassana is our most influential player and has turned his ankle…I'm not a physio, but in my experience you are looking at weeks out when you do something like that…I would like to have scanned him on Sunday and then given them a fair assessment but now we have to wait”.

Adams has also recently lost other key players to injuries recently including Sol Campbell and Niko Kranjcar.
