AC Milan 3-0 Man UtdIt has been. AC Milan will face Liverpool in the Champions League final in Athens. AC Milan crushed Manchester United at the San Siro on Wednesday night with a 3-0 win taking the aggregate to 5-3 over the 2 legs. Manchester United were unable to protect a one goal lead from the first leg as they fell to a Kaka goal after just 11 minutes. The second goal came on the half hour courtesy on Clarence Seedorf before the game was wrapped up late on by substitute Alberto Gilardino. All in all it was an easy win for AC Milan as they turned on the class to tear apart a Manchester United side that didn’t really turn up on the night. Alex Ferguson was full of praise for the Milan side but in reality his all star cast failed to impact in the San Siro leaving travelling fans disappointed. The exit ended United's dreams of repeating their 1999 Treble but they cannot complain after being totally outclassed in the away leg against the Italian masters. Wet conditions made for difficult play which Milan were able to take advantage of with swift movement and passing breaking down the Red’s defence. The return of Vidic after a broken collarbone did little to bolster Manchester United’s defensive efforts. The big names of United such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who started on the left, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney all failed to impact on the game. Manchester United will be sore losers and will be aiming to return to winning ways at the weekend. With the chance of claiming the Premier League title on Saturday they can sharp forget their European woes. They also still have the FA Cup Final against Chelsea to look forward to meaning that a double is still on the cards for the English Premier League giants.
