David Moyes has been given the disappointing news that new signing Lars Jacobsen is likely to miss up to three months of the season after the defender suffered a dislocated shoulder in Denmark’s victory over Portugal during the recent World Cup Qualifiers.

The 28 year old defender has recently completed a free transfer to Everton from German outfit FC Nuremburg and has yet to make his debut for his new club.

Speaking after the news was confirmed, Manager David Moyes said “He will need an operation that will keep him out for three or four months…It is a blow to the boy…He was just beginning to settle in and we were looking forward to using him."
