Kinnear Relief Over Owen InjuryInterim Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear has revealed that Micheal Owen’s groin injury is not as bad as the club had initially feared. The 28 year old striker damaged the groin in training this week and initial assessments had suggested that he could be out for up to a month. However, Kinnear has now moved to calm those fears. He said “He has sort of tweaked his groin in training…He had a scan and I would think we would be looking at between seven and ten days”.
One of the positive notes for Newcastle supporters this season against the backdrop of problems has been the return to fitness and form of Owen.
The former Liverpool player has scored 4 times already this season in just 7 games and so those fans will be relieved to hear that the injury is not as bad as first feared. Tags: Joe Kinnear, Micheal Owen Posted: |
