Japan’s display against Cote d’Ivoire was definitely impressive but two quick fire goals saw the Japanese confidence sink. Japan’s goalkeeper was the culprit for the second goal by Gervinho as he failed to save the header from point blank range. Japan dominated the first half with Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa controlling the midfield play with the former scoring the only goal for Japan.

Greece’s team was disappointing in the Colombia match. They did try to salvage the match but were overrun by Colombia. Greece’s midfield and attack is lacklustre with nobody apart from Georgios Samaras providing some spark. The midfielders available to the Greece coach are not that great and it is hurting the Greece World cup group run.
